Dr. Courtney Lester joined Hickory Veterinary Hospital in October 2026. Her professional interests include surgery, emergency and urgent care, and Fear Free veterinary practices that help make visits more comfortable for pets.

Dr. Lester earned her undergraduate degree in Animal Science from Oklahoma State University in 2017 before graduating from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2022.

For Dr. Lester, one of the most rewarding parts of being a veterinarian is building meaningful relationships with pets and their families and helping them navigate difficult or stressful situations. She values the opportunity to provide compassionate care and support when animals and their owners need it most.

Originally from Middletown, Delaware, Dr. Lester has always had a love for animals. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys reading, crafting, sewing, spending time outdoors, and being on the water. She shares her home with a Cane Corso and two cats and is excited to welcome her first child in December 2026.
